What is a Boss Revolution Prepaid Visa Card?

The Boss Revolution Prepaid Visa Card is a prepaid Visa card. When you buy it, you add money to the card. You can use the card included in the package anywhere in the United States and the District of Columbia that accepts Visa debit cards. If you want to use your card to make purchases online or over the phone, you must first register your card as online retailers need to verify that your shipping address matches the address on file. The Boss Revolution Prepaid Visa Card becomes a ready-to-use reloadable card after you successfully update* your card online with us. If you choose to upgrade* to a personalized card, you'll receive all the benefits of the Boss Revolution Prepaid Visa Card, including the ability to receive money from your paycheck or certain additional government benefits via direct deposit, use ATMs to withdraw cash, Use the card for international purchases and receive up to two "companion" cards. Additional charges apply for rechargeable instant use (registered or unregistered) and personalized cards.

Can Anyone Buy a Boss Revolution Prepaid Visa Card?

Any person over the age of 18 who is a resident of the United States may purchase the card.

How is the card that I receive in the package different from the ready-to-use rechargeable card and the personalized card?

The Boss Revolution Visa prepaid card that you purchase in a bundle or instant use card works like a prepaid gift card until you request an upgraded card*. After a successful upgrade*, the card becomes a ready-to-use rechargeable card. You can add extra money. When you upgrade* to a personalized card, you'll enjoy all the features of the Boss Revolution Prepaid Visa Card: use it at ATMs to withdraw cash, get money from your paycheck, or certain additional government benefits through direct deposit, use it for international payments purchases and receive up to two "companion" cards.

How is the Boss Revolution Prepaid Visa Card different from a debit card?

The Boss Revolution Prepaid Visa Card is not linked to any bank account.

What is the interest rate on the card?

There is no interest.

Do I need a good balance to upgrade* to an instant rechargeable card or a personalized card?

no The card is prepaid, so no credit check is required. All you have to do is provide valid identification information to upgrade* to a ready-to-use rechargeable card or a personalized card.

Will the card help me build a credit history?

no This card is not a credit card. We do not extend a line of credit with the card, so it will not help you build a credit history or affect your existing balance.

Can I order the card online?

No, not at this point. Watch out for online purchases in the future.

Can the card be sent to a PO Box?

no For security and identity verification reasons, we can only ship cards to an address in the United States and the District of Columbia.

I am not a US citizen. Can I still upgrade* to a ready-to-use rechargeable card or a personalized card?

Can I open a card in my company's name?

no We offer maps for personal use only.

Can I order a card for someone who lives outside of the United States?

No, you can order a card for yourself and you must reside in the United States or the District of Columbia.

Why do I have to register my card?

You need to register your card if you want to use your card to make purchases online, in the mail or over the phone, as merchants need to verify that your shipping address matches the address on file. By registering your card, you can replace the card if it is lost or stolen. Registering your card is the first step in updating* your card so it can be reloaded.

What happens if I don't register my card?

You may only use your card as a prepaid card at merchants that accept Visa debit cards in the United States and the District of Columbia. You cannot use the card for online, mail or phone purchases, and you cannot upgrade* to add additional funds. We cannot replace an unregistered card if it is lost or stolen.

Upgrade your card to a rechargeable card

How do I upgrade* my Boss Revolution Prepaid Visa Card to an Instant Use Reloadable Card or Personalized Card?

Visitwww.bossrevolution.com/prepaidvisaand select "Get Started" and then "Register your card!". You will need to enter your card information, name, address, phone number and email address and set up a username and password for your card account. After successful card registration, click on "Update my card" or "Personalize my card". You will be prompted for more information. US residents will receive a notification when their map* update is successful. Non-US residents will receive an email when their request to update* their map is approved.

Why do I have to go through the card application process to update my card*?

You must request an upgrade* to a reloadable card if you want to load money onto your card. Federal law requires that we collect, verify, and record information about any person who seeks a reloadable card. You will be asked to provide your name, address, date of birth and other information that will enable us to identify you. You may also be asked to provide documents as proof of identity.

What happens if I don't update my card*?

You may not add any additional funds or value to your card. They also do not have access to ATMs or other features associated with the personalized card.

My upgrade* request for a rechargeable card failed. What's happening now?

Anyone with a social security number can email Compliance@idt.net. Please provide your name, address, phone number and card number so we can investigate the reason for the failed update. All information in your email is secure. If you don't have a social security number, you'll receive an email letting you know your map update failed. If the reason for the error can be resolved, you will be given instructions on how to provide additional information.

I don't have a social security number. What other means of identification can I use to update the card* and what is the process?

Identity documents such as Matricula Consular or Resident Foreigner Card are accepted as long as they have not expired. For a complete list of acceptable forms of identification, seeclick here. When you enter your alternate ID, you will be asked to send us a copy and a copy of a utility bill or other bill to verify your address. We will contact you via email within 7-10 business days if your request to update your map is successful.

How do I send you a copy of my alternate ID?

My request to upgrade* to a rechargeable personalized card was accepted. When will I receive my personalized card?

If you choose a personalized card, you will receive it in the mail within 5-7 working days.

What is the difference between the Instant Use Reloadable Card and the Personalized Card?

You can continue to use the card you originally received in the package after upgrading* to a ready-to-use rechargeable card. Your upgraded* non-personalised instant use card is reloadable. However, your non-personalized Instant Use Reloadable Card cannot be used at ATMs or for international transactions. You may also not request "companion" cards or use the direct deposit facility to load funds into your non-personalized instant use reloadable card.

Activation of your personalized card

Why do I want a personalized card?

Your personalized Boss Revolution Prepaid Visa Card gives you all the benefits that come with the card: international purchases, direct deposit, "companion" cards and more. We charge a $5.00 secondary card fee for each personalized companion card. You can reload your card after a successful upgrade* without a personalized card, but you won't have access to the other features.

How do I get a personalized card?

Please go to "Personalize my card" to buy a card after you have successfully registered your name and address. You will receive your personalized map in the mail* within 7-10 working days after a successful update. You must activate your personalized card upon receipt in order to use it.

Why do I need to activate my personalized card?

Your new personalized Boss Revolution Prepaid Visa Card will not work until you activate it. After you receive your card in the mail, activation is quick by calling 1-800-618-5360. Funds from your Instant Use Card are transferred to your personalized card upon activation.

Adding funds to the card

How can I top up or add credit?

You fund or "load" the map into the pack when you purchase it from participating Boss Revolution retailers. You cannot add additional funds or "top up" the card after purchase until you have successfully updated* your card. A successful upgrade converts the card into a rechargeable card. After the card is reloadable, you can upgrade the card by visiting your Boss Revolution retailer OR by purchasing a MoneyPak®.

Can I add additional credit to the card before upgrading*?

No, you cannot add credit to your card after purchase until your upgrade request* is successful.

What is a MoneyPak®?

MoneyPak® is the name of a "Cash Reload Card" sold at participating retailers. You can use MoneyPak® to load your card. MoneyPak® is in the same section as prepaid cards. Give the cashier the MoneyPak® along with the money you want loaded onto the card, then visit www.mygreendot.com or call 1-800-GREENDOT to have the money loaded onto your card. What is the minimum required load for the Boss Revolution Visa Prepaid Card?

You must upload at least $20.00.

How many times a day can I top up my card?

You can top up your card once a day.

What is the maximum amount I can load onto my card?

If you are purchasing your card for the first time, the maximum amount is $500. After upgrading* to a rechargeable card, maximum amounts are higher. When you load your card with cash, you can add a maximum of $990 at any time. There is no maximum amount for direct deposit loads.

How much does it cost to top up cash at a Boss Revolution location?

Boss Revolution retailers that sell the Boss Revolution Visa Prepaid Card charge $2.50 each time you load your card.

How much does it cost to load money with a MoneyPak®?

Most MoneyPak® merchants charge $4.95 to load your card.

Direct deposit

How do I add money via direct deposit?

Direct Deposit is the free and easy way to add funds to your personalized card. Your credit is immediately available on your personalized Boss Revolution Prepaid Visa Card on payday. You will receive a deposit form in the mail with your personalized card, which you must fill out and give to your employer or other authorized payer. Your employer or payer takes care of your direct deposit registration. If you receive government benefits, these benefits can also be paid directly into your card.

Where can I find the direct deposit form for my employer/payer?

We will provide a direct deposit form with your personalized card when you first receive it in the mail.

Can I split my paycheck or deposit a specific amount?

Yes, all or part of your paycheck or other payment can be deposited directly into your card account, depending on your employer or payer, who will determine the percentages allowed.

How much money can I load onto my card from my paycheck or state benefits?

The height is up to you. There is no max.

How much money can I load from my bank account onto my card?

$0. We do not allow direct debits from your bank account.

Is there a fee for direct deposit?

No, direct deposit is a free service.

When will my direct deposit load be available?

You can access your money as soon as your employer or payer electronically deposits the money into your card account.

Can I load state benefits such as disability or social security onto my card?

Yes, simply provide the payer of your benefits with the same information as you would for any other direct deposit.

How do I cancel the direct deposit feature?

Contact your employer or payer and follow their procedures to stop your direct deposit. Electronic payments for amounts you authorize will continue to be held on your card until your employer or payer changes the process.

How do I add funds using the card-to-card loading feature?

Transferring funds from one personalized Boss Revolution Prepaid Visa Card to another personalized Boss Revolution Prepaid Visa Card is easy and can be done online or through your mobile device.

Are there any fees for using card-to-card transfers?

No, card-to-card transfers are free.

How much can I transfer using card-to-card transfers?

You can transfer up to $500 per transaction, or a total of $500 per day. The minimum amount required is $5. You can make up to four (4) transfers per day as long as you don't exceed the $500 limit. The maximum amount for card-to-card transfers per month is $2,000.00

Why do I need a Personal Identification Number (PIN) for my Instant Use Card?

PIN numbers are required by law. If you want to buy from a retailer by direct debit, you need a PIN.

Why do I need a PIN for my personalized card?

PIN numbers are required for redeeming cash from your card at retailers and at ATMs for cash withdrawals. If you want to buy from a retailer by direct debit, you need a PIN.

Where can I find my PIN?

Your PIN number is included in the Instant Use Card package. If you need or want to change your PIN, call 1-800-725-1442 and follow the prompts for PIN options. Personalized cardholders receive a new PIN when they activate their card over the phone.

How do I change my PIN?

Lost or stolen card

What happens if my card is lost or stolen?

Your balance is protected** if you register your card before it's lost or stolen and report it immediately. To report the loss or theft of your card, call us toll-free at 1-800-725-1442 to speak to a customer service representative. There is a $5.00 charge for replacing your card.

**The Visa Zero Liability Policy applies only to US-issued cards and does not apply to non-Visa-processed ATM and PIN transactions or certain commercial card transactions. Will I still be charged if the card balance is zero?

No, no charges will be deducted from your card balance if the balance is zero.

Are there monthly fees even if I don't use my card?

Yes, your Enhanced Reloadable Instant Use Card* or Personalized Reloadable Card is subject to a monthly maintenance fee of $2.50 per month while open, unless prohibited by law. Instant use cards (registered and unregistered) will be charged an inactivity fee of $2.50 per month after 12 months of cardholder inactivity.

How do I edit my account information?

You can change your email address online by logging into your account and then selecting Edit account activity and profile. If you would like to change your mailing address, please call Customer Service at 1-800-725-1442

SMS messages

What types of text messages (SMS) will I receive if I opt in to receive text messages***?

SMS messages allow you to easily monitor your card account. Receive text alerts every time you make a transaction or when your balance falls below $19.00. You can also cancel notifications at any time via SMS.

How do I opt out of SMS notifications***?

Log in to your card account and select "Subscribe to SMS notifications" under Account activities.

How do I cancel my card?

Call our customer service representative at our toll-free number 1-800-725-1442 to cancel your card at any time.

Is there a fee for canceling my card account?

How do I get the remaining balance on my card after I cancel it?

You will receive a check for the balance (less applicable fees) within 7-10 business days. We charge $10 to issue and mail your check.

I see an expiry date on my card. What does that mean?

The expiry date of your card refers to the month and year. For example, 18.06. June 2018. You can no longer use your card after the expiration date, but the balance on the card does not expire.

Do I get a new card when my card expires?

Yes, if you have used your card in the last 12 months you will receive a new card in the mail free of charge before its expiry date. All funds from the old card will be transferred to the new card when you activate your new card.

If my card has expired, do I have to go through the update process* again?

If you haven't used your card in the last 12 months, you'll need to buy a new card to replace the expired card and request an updated card*.

Are there places where I can't use my Boss Revolution Prepaid Visa Card?

The card may not be used for online gambling. Nor can it be used as a calling card for business expenses. We may block use of the card in certain countries due to fraud and security concerns. You cannot use the Instant Use Card to make purchases over the phone, online, or place orders over the phone until you have registered your card. The registered Instant Use Card may not be used at any merchant, including Internet, mail order, or telephone ordering merchants, outside of the United States or the District of Columbia.

Can I spend more money than I have on my card?

Only output what you have loaded.

Can I rent a car with the card?

Yes, we recommend that you find out about the acceptance policies of your car rental company. Some car rental companies "authorize" or hold money for much more than the actual cost of the rental car. They do this because the rental company doesn't know if they have to charge you for additional costs such as gas, damage to the car and extra days to return the vehicle. These authorized funds will be held and will not be available to you until the final transaction is reflected on your bank statement. This means you may not have access to these funds for up to 60 days.

Why would an online purchase be declined if I have enough funds on my card?

There can be several reasons for this: 1. If you have not registered your card, the merchant may not be able to confirm that the address you have provided matches the (registered) billing address on the card. 2. The purchase you made online may have been declined because the address you provided to the retailer is different from the address you registered with us. If you need to update your address, please log into your online account and click Edit Settings. You can also call Customer Service at 1-800-725-1442 and speak to one of our representatives to update your address. 3. If you do not have a personalized reloadable card, your transaction may be declined as the merchant is not based in the United States. Personalized cards can only be used for international transactions. 4. It is possible that the expiry date of the card and/or the CVV does not match the information on the card. Check your expiration date and/or your CVV entry for accuracy. If this information is correct, please contact the online retailer to ensure that this information is submitted correctly. 5. A suspension of merchant authorization may have resulted in a temporary insufficient balance on your card. When you shop online, many merchants verify the balance on your card by creating an authorization for your purchase. If the merchant doesn't remove this authorization, your purchase will temporarily be charged twice: one for the authorization and one for the purchase. Although this temporary charge will be removed in 7-10 days, your card balance may not be sufficient by the time it is removed.

Why was I charged for an online purchase even though the transaction was declined?

Funds may have been set aside to cover the cost of your purchase. In this case, it can take up to 10 business days for the merchant to refund the money to your card.

Yes, you can use your card for international purchases if you have upgraded* to a personalized card. If you do not have a personalized card, your card is only valid for domestic purchases in the United States and the District of Columbia.

Can I withdraw cash from ATMs worldwide with a personalized card?

Yes, however we do not allow access to ATMs in certain countries due to fraud and security concerns. Currently you cannot use your card at ATMs in the Dominican Republic, Jamaica or Vietnam. Other countries may be added to the list if security/fraud issues increase in a particular location.

How much cash can I withdraw from an ATM?

You can withdraw $500 per day from ATMs that accept your card.

Secondary or "companion" cards

Can I request additional cards for friends and family?

Yes, you can request up to two (2) additional cards for friends or family members after becoming a Personalized Cardholder. Tickets can be purchased for $5.00 each. Secondary cards or "companion" cards are personalized for the accompanying cardholder. To request a supplemental card, log into your account and select Request Supplemental Card from the "I want to" menu.

Does the companion cardholder have the same card benefits as the primary cardholder?

The cardholder traveling with you can enjoy almost all the advantages of the personalized card. However, complementary card top-ups are limited to personalized cardholder transfers.

Does each accompanying cardholder have a separate card account or credit?

Yes, additional cards will have a separate card balance from the main cardholder. As the primary cardholder, you are responsible for all activity on the cards.

How does the secondary cardholder access their account?

After the accompanying cardholder has received their card in the mail, they must go online to "Register your card!". This process creates a registration ID, username and password for the traveling cardholder to access their card account.

Can the primary cardholder see and access the companion cardholder's information?

Yes, the primary cardholder can view the secondary cardholder's transaction history.

Can the companion cardholder see the primary cardholder's information?

No, the companion cardholder cannot view the primary cardholder's account or transaction information.

Is the companion cardholder entitled to $1 free airtime with Boss Revolution Pinless?

No, Complementary Cards can only be topped up with a Personalized Cardholder Transfer, therefore no promotional minutes are associated with it.

How can I get a written history of my transactions?

You can view your transactions online at any time. You may request a written history of your transactions by calling us at 1-800-725-1442 or writing to us at: Boss Revolution Customer Service, 550 Broad Street, Newark, NJ 07102. We charge $5.00 to create and Submission of a written account statement.

What do I do if I have a question about a transaction or think there is an error with my card?

If you have any errors or questions about your card transactions, you should call us at 1-800-725-1442. We require the following information: 1) your name and card number; 2) why you believe there is an error and what the dollar amount is; and 3) approximately when the error occurred. If you tell us your problem over the phone, we may ask that you send us a letter within 10 business days. We will determine if an error has occurred within 10 business days of contacting you and promptly correct any error. If we need more time, we may need up to 45 days for investigation. If we need more time, we can credit your card for the amount you claim is in error within 10 working days, giving you the money during the time we need to complete our investigation. If you have no government payments (e.g. Social Security benefits, tax refunds or other government payments) on file on your card account, we may not credit your card. If we ask you to put your complaint or question in writing and we don't receive it within 10 working days, we won't be able to credit the card.
